Brief Bio

Yirui Wang is currently a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Alibaba DAMO Academy. His research spans medical image analysis, computer-aided diagnosis, and computer vision. Currently, he is passionate on:


Before joining Alibaba, he is a Senior Research Scientist at Ping An Technology medical imaging research lab (PAII Inc., Bethesda, MD, USA). In 2021, he recieved the Ping An Group Innovation Breakthrough Award (one of the ten awarded projects) as a recognition for his achievement in computer-aided diagnosis for bone related diseases (e.g., fractures, osteoporosis) with a physician-level performance.


Yirui Wang obtained his master's degree from the Department of Computer Science at the Johns Hopkins University in 2018. He recieved the bachelor's degree of Computer Science from East China Normal University in 2016, supervised by Prof. Aimin Zhou
